25.2 - March 2025
Our new release is coming in hot to counter winter weather!
What's new?
Developer Portal, documentation and NOVA API reference public!
We're very happy to announce that the Developer Portal as well as the documentation and NOVA API reference are now publicly available. You can access them via the Wandelbots Developer Portal (opens in a new tab).
Of course, specific functionalities are tied to a Wandelbots NOVA license ;)
Publish custom apps in NOVA app store
Make your device integrations available to all NOVA users via the NOVA app store.
Install rerun from NOVA catalog
You can now install rerun right from the NOVA catalog. Check out the rerun entry for more information.
Add/View TCPs
It's now possible to add custom TCPs to your virtual robot or to configure already existing TCPs by adjusting the translation and rotation values. For physical robots, you can now view the TCPs that are available for your robot.
When adding a robot to a cell, you can now indicate a controller port that the controller uses to listen for incoming connections.
Integrated software: realvirtual
Wandelbots NOVA is now part of realvirtual's Unity offering. Check out their documentation for more information on Wandelbots NOVA x realvirtual (opens in a new tab)!
Device registration
Instead of tedious manual copying and pasting tokens, Wandelbots NOVA now asks for a device registration with a simple click.
Simulation scene in Robot Pad no longer available if Isaac Sim is not in full streaming mode
If Isaac Sim was not started in full streaming mode, the option to display the simulation scene in Robot Pad is no longer available. The option will be available again once Isaac Sim is started in full streaming mode.
Check out how to start NVIDIA Isaac Sim in full streaming mode.
Virtual robots keep positions
Virtual robots keep their positions when turning the instance off and on again.
Supported robots
The following physical and virtual robots joined the Wandelbots NOVA family:
KUKA
- KR 4 R600
- KR 10 R900
- KR 10 R900 2
- KR 10 R1100
- KR 10 R1100 2
- KR 20 R1810
- KR 25 R2700-2
- KR 50 R2500
- KR 150 2
FANUC
- CR-35iB
- R-2000iC/125L
Yaskawa
- GP 25
- HC10DTP
What's better?
Updated home positions for virtual robots
All virtual robots now come with initialized home positions that are far from singularities and compatible with the default Wandelscript in the
Experimental & deprecated info in API
All experimental and deprecated endpoints in the Wandelbots NOVA API are now uniformly marked as such. Safety warnings now have a consistent design as well.
Toggle safety zones in Robot Pad
Display or hide safety zones easily in Robot Pad via a toggle button.
Guided login for simulation in Robot Pad
When connecting to NVIDIA Omniverse in Robot Pad, you're now guided through the login process. Wrong credentials and failed connections now prompt an error message.
Bug fixes
401 redirects to login page
Robot Pad and settings app now redirect you to the login page if they detect a 401 error.
Adding a tool now possible after tool type change
When adding a tool to the simulation scene via Robot Pad, changing the tool type no longer disables the "Add tool" button.
Export configurations leads to corrupted files
Exported configurations now include all motion groups (robots) assigned to the correct controller.
Add TCP via API leads to confusing error messages
Adding a TCP via the API now returns a understandable error message. Robot Pad still requires a refresh to display the new TCP.
Technical details
